Leuthner and G. Dientzenhofer. The main building of the monastery consists of three or four-storey wings around an inner courtyard. Part of the complex is a high baroque library hall of European importance. The adjoining early baroque \u2018Abbey Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. John the Evangelist\u2019 has a long-distance-effect over the surrounding monastery forests. Not far from the pilgrimage church is the Kapplwirt, a four-sided farm building that dates back to a monastery estate built as early as the 12th century. Jhdt. wurde auf einer Insel im Oberen Stadtteich Tirschenreuths der Fischhof als Grangie des Klosters Waldsassen erbaut.<\/p><p>In diesem Klosterhof war zwischen 1562 &#8211; 1571 die kurpf\u00e4lzische Hofhaltung untergebracht. 1680 &#8211; 1713 wurde er in der heutigen Form als zweigeschossige Vierfl\u00fcgelanlage zur kl\u00f6sterlichen Sommerresidenz ausgebaut. Der Fischhof ist als Steuerungszentrum der kl\u00f6sterlichen Teichwirtschaft von sehr hohem geschichtlichem Zeugniswert und besitzt eine au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche Insellage. Innerhalb von nur drei Jahren brach man auf einer Strecke von rund 60 Metern und einer Tiefe von etwa 10 Metern circa 500 Kubikmeter Granitstein heraus. Jeden Tag waren rund hundert Fronbauern f\u00fcr das Kloster am Werk. Nicht weniger beeindruckend sind die Zahlen f\u00fcr den Damm des Unteren Stadtteiches.
